First Thought : Cool! Finally going to a beach party.
First Impression : Dark, nothing extra-ordinary other than having a BBQ on a Thursday evening at the beach.
I was there last week with my beau and his entourage to celebrate a friend's birthday at the beach which i thought was pretty cool and out of the norms to celebrate a birthday party at the beach, at night!
I first step foot on the sandy pathway on 16th angel beach at Kuala Tutong last week and it was nothing to commemorate about the short walk from our car to the centre of the location. I was walking in the dark, sandy road surrounded by tall trees and few friends. It was a bit spooky to walk in the dark towards the beach. Not that i felt anything but its just scary to be walking along the tall trees with only some stray lights from the not-so-distance hut to guide us.
It eventually got better as i walked closer. It was quite homey and laid-back amid the darkness. It has those "holiday" feel. I could see the wave coming onto the shoreline, a few metres away from our spot. There were toilets - clean toilets with baths, 2 cemented stoves for barbecuing, there's also a trampoline found slightly away from a short coconut tree, 2 small wooden open huts with tables, benches and bulb hanging down from the inside of the roof to provide lights and a 2-storey open hut - something like a watch tower overlooking out to the sea. A sense of relaxation were felt.
The night started with food and drinks when we arrived at 9:30p.m and the DJ at 10-ish and began working on his mixing at 11-ish. The party didn't literally start until the crowd came at midnight. Yes midnight and it was Thursday going on to Friday. I didn't expect it to start that late because i had to work the next morning. Well, i was following my beau and he didnt want to leave without his entourage so i had to stay on till 2:30a.m. Not that i'm not enjoying, i actually enjoyed to every beat of that night but it's just the work that's hindering my thoughts. Anyway, everyone was having such a great time that no one wanted to leave. I got to admit i wish that night was a Saturday so i could relax and unwind till the next morning and watch the sun rise with comfort.
The party was great if not better, than I thought. The weather was great, the sky was full of stars and the moon was shining brightly casting a shadow on the water. It was beautiful that night. I wish I had a picture to document it but I don't because I couldn't have caught such beautiful scene in the dark with my antique 3.2MP DigiCam.
Well, I will be going there again this Saturday. I will be bringing my camera this time and I hope we get there before the dusk falls in because I would really love to take pictures before it gets too dark to shoot anything. But I doubt we will get there before dusk because i don't think my beau's entourage is really excited as much as I to go to the beach to appreciate its' beauty and let alone, they'll be spending the night at the beach so i don't think they'll go there at 5pm that early and by the by they're never on time.
Until then...here are some photos i found. credits to emmagoodegg.blogs.com
